Our Foundation Stallion
Mac is our superstar Connemara stallion. Purchased as a two year old in 1999, he is everything we wanted: A huge and kind heart, strong Connemara pony type, excellent fertility and breeding outcomes, and a beautiful and athletic mover. Sired by the Chiltern Colm son Balius Brannigan, Mac is a 14.1h bay with 8" of bone. As a youngster he was a beautiful and classic red bay, but has turned black with time. He inherited a coat modifying “sooty gene“ from Brannigan, a black dappley coat overlay that darkens with time, and he often passes this on. He is a beautiful mover with good reach and a long stride. He has lived out with his mares and their foals, and always treats visitors young and old with his quiet kindness. At 28, he is still siring foals and enjoying life!
